Antique photo showing Bass River Corner and the Blacksmith Shop once owned by the "Easter" family whose name was given to nearby Easter Road. Some of the blacksmiths buildings were purchased by Jonathan Lawson and moved across the street to expand the old Bass River Corner Store which had been in existence for some time before being acquired by Jonathan and Muriel Lawson.

The old corner store is located on Hwy 116 at the very heart of the "wild heart of Kent"

Blacksmith Shop above, not showing the buildings that were moved which are seen below, including the "Town Hall", Thompson's General Store (formerly Lawson's) and the Old Orange Lodge. The town hall was torn down and community business moved to the Bass River Fair Hall, home of the Bass River Country Fair since 1976 and Arthur L. Manning Memorial Sports Complex.
